Ayurveda cures the Root Problem, not just Symptoms

Ayurveda is a science of life with a holistic approach to health and personalized medicine. It is known to be a complete medical system that comprised physical, psychological, philosophical, ethical, and spiritual health.
In Ayurveda, however the success of Chikitsa depends mainly upon four factors which are known as Chikitsa Chatushpada. These Chatushpada includes Bhishag, Upastha, Rogi and Dravya.

The success of any physician depends on good quality of drugs. Hence no matter how perfect a physician is in diagnosing and treating any disorder but he is helpless without good quality and effective medicines.

Acharya Charak said that Aushodhi is not only “drug”, but any kind of substance, which is useful in the management of disease is called as drug.

The selection of the proper drug in the management of disease is very important.

According to person’s Prakriti (Constitution) treatment can plan.

Constitution (Prakriti) - The constitution is called the prakriti. The prakriti is a person’s unique combination of physical and psychological characteristics and the way the body functions to maintain health. It is influenced by such factors as digestion and how the body deals with waste products.
For ayurvedic physicians, patients’ digestive strength is important. We will analyse patients’ metabolic state before treatment, as a matter of course, aiming for optimal stability and the least gastrointestinal damage.
Ayurveda has narrated timings of medication according to the patient’s nature, disease, and the condition of disease.

Ayurvedic medicine uses a variety of products and techniques to cleanse the body and restore balance.

Drugs like Shatavari, Aswagndha, Amalaki etc. having considerable estrogenic activity and they can be considered as good source of phytoestrogens and recommended for all three Doshas (bio-elements) Vitiation.

Drugs used for menopause :

Shatavari

Shatavariis used in Ayurveda to balance pitta and vata dosha.  It is Rasayana, Deepan, Pachana (Increase Metabolism), Balya, Dahashamaka (Pitta shamaka), Dhatupustikar etc.

It isPhytoestrogenic herb, filled with isoflavonoids, antioxidants, fibres and vitamins acts as natural sedative tonic to calm the nervous system.

  • It relaxes the central nervous system and decreases hot flashes and nightsweats.
  • It reduces vaginal dryness.
  • It reduces stress levels and enhances the immune system to function more efficiently.
  • It increases strength and energy.
  • It alleviates body tissue depletion that takes place during menopause.

It nourishes the female reproductive organs. This way it compensates for the depleting sex hormones during menopause

Ashwagandha

Due to Balya and Vaya-Sthapana properties of Ashwagandha it directly acts as Rasayana and causes DhatuPushti,

  • It supports sound sleep and anti-stress effect due to alkaloids and glycosides
  • It is a powerful antioxidant & immune modulator.
  • It is one that improves strength, muscle mass, relieves stress.
  • In Menopause patient, it controls effectively the vasomotor symptoms (Hot flushes, night sweats, palpitation) it can affect elements of the central nervous system.

Yastimadhu

It is RasayanJivaniya, Varnya, Kanthya drug which is promoting agent for life, voice, hair, strength and libido.

  • Its having phytoestrogens which is good for menopause syndrome like irritability, mood swing, bloating etc.
  • The bone and joint pain can be relieved by the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of Yashtimadhu.
  • It is an excellent antioxidant, Immuno modulator & anti-depressant, memory enhancer.
  • It is good for eye sight / vision, hair, heart, skin
  • It has antidepressant compound

Gokshur

Gokshurais known to balance Tridosha (Vata-Pitta-Kapha). It has the Balya (strength provider) property beneficial in providing strength to the body. It is also used to manage urinary disorders due to its Mutral (diuretic) property.

It is aphrodisiac, anabolic, anti inflammatory. It also aids in the maintenance of hormone levels in the blood, the enhancement of female reproductive organs, and the development of eggs into follicles.

It has antioxidant properties, reduce blood sugar levels, benefit women's health, reduce blood pressure, reduce inflammation, treat kidney stones, and provide pain relief.

Brahmi

Brahmi havingBalya, MedhyaRasayan, Prajasthapana properties and VataKapha shaman.

  • It improves liver function and sleep patterns

Bala

As per Ayurveda, it is beneficial in pacifying all three doshas- vatta, pitta and kapha, but is most efficient is balancing vatadosha.

It has Balya, Bruhaniya and Vatashamana properties

It is mainly used as a Central Nervous system (CNS) depressant, analgesic, hypotensive and hypoglycaemic agent.

It works the best nerve tonic for treating numerous vata disorders.

Amalaki

In Ayurveda it is Rasayan, Vayasthapana, Tridoshaharaspacially Pitta shamaka, Chakshushya, improve metabolism

It contains highest amount of stable vitamin C conjugated with gallic acid, this complex is powerful antioxidants cytoprotective and immune-modulatory action which promotes anti aging action.

Amla is also an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin E, as well as iron, calcium, and dietary fiber.
